My Adobe Premiere Pro CC (latest) seems to be lagging when I play GoPro Hero3+ 2.7k footage for more than 3-5 seconds. My specs are:
Adobe Premiere Pro CC (latest)
Intel Core i7 4960K @ 3.4GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 780ti 2GB
C: Samsung 840 PRO SSD with OS and Apps
E: 2x Seagate 3tb 7200rpm drives in RAID 0 with all footage on it (connected via SATA 6gb port on onboard intel controller)
F: Samsung 830 Pro 256GB SSD for Cache
G: OCZ Vector 128GB for renders (but I never really use it to be honest)
and a 6tb to backup.
Mercury engine is enabled and scratch disks are set to use the F: for cache.
What am I doing wrong? What tests can I perform to help provide more information? Thanks.
GoPro native clips are notorious for being able to bog down even the mightiest workstations. Recommended to run the clips through GoPro Studio and convert to .avi (PC) or .mov (Mac) files prior to editing. The new files will be larger, but much much easier to play. A secondary benefit of the conversion is the option to remove fisheye (checkbox).
