CS5 only works with ACR 6.x.
CS6/CC/CC2014 work with ACR 8.x.
D7100 requires camera RAW version 7.4 and above. Refer to below document.
You will have to use DNG converter to convert the files to DNG format.
Below is the link for DNG converter
Or you can update to CS6/CC/CC2014 Photoshop.
Thank you for posting on Adobe Forums.
That's a misleading answer, Gautam - the question isn't about raw support per se. Lr 5 supports the D7100, so there's no problem converting the files, and therefore no need to recommend the DNG converter. The files going to Photoshop for editing will be in tiff anyway.
Andrew, you will need to update Photosho to get native "Edit in..." support. Gautam is right to point out that you need ACR 7.4, and that's not compatible with PS 5: but that's all you need to do - references to converting files to DNG are not relevant here.
Thank you for your advice.
So am I right in thinking that if I want to use the "edit in photoshop"button I have to upgrade to cs6 ?
You don't have to upgrade to CS6 as long as you choose the option to edit that copy that includes the Lightroom adjustments. If you choose that option you can continue with the version of Photoshop you have now.
Im sorry to appear really ignorant here but I only have one option to" edit in photoshop" when I right click on the image. How do I "edit that copy that includes the Lightroom adjustments" as Jim Says?
