The last update was June 2013 - a long time ago indeed.
It is pretty obvious that no updates will be forthcoming from Adobe at this point.
Fireworks is dead in the water, and the hull is rotting away. Only a matter of time until she sinks. (Adobe has stated in the past that CS6 will be sold and supported for two major OS updates - which would indicate Fireworks may no longer be available within a year, or so).
Abandon ship :-(
Everyone need to look at a bigger picture. What is the actual thing you need?
1. A tool that will be continue developed but may not have the feature you love in Fireworks
2. A matured screen design tool that can serve you for a couple more good years
I know this is rather subjective but i think there is no panic to leave Fireworks just yet.
Fireworks Project Phoenix Product Manager
While I love to see that flurry of development for Fireworks (Phoenix), there is a good chance that Adobe may stop selling CS6 this year. And existing bugs in the FW core will never be addressed either.
It is a real shame, because you are correct: nothing out there offers they same flexibility for ui and screen designers.
It would be great if Adobe decided to open source FW, but we all know that is never going to happen.
