Getting layers aligned exactly as they were in photoshop

    reindeer4 Level 1

I have a photoshop cs6 document 10240 x 2560 pixels with 3 different layers showing objects in different styles.

How can I get these perfectly aligned as 3 separate layers in Fireworks CS6?

I exported the layers as separate png files - but when I try to bring these in in Fireworks through import, they show different size bounding boxes.

When I try bringing the whole photoshop document in or 'open in firefox' it won't let me (not sure if there's a pixel dimension limit)

      Thanks for any help.

You are correct: the maximum document dimensions in FW are 6000 by 6000 pixels. A simple change in a preference file serves as a workaround, although I do not recall how far you can push these numbers (there is limit).

Make sure that Fireworks is closed, open Fireworks CS6 Preferences.txt file located in:

          Windows 7/Vista: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Fireworks CS6\English\

          Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Fireworks CS6\English\

          MacOS X: Library/Preferences/Adobe Fireworks CS6/en/

          and change

              <key>MaxDocSizeInPixels</key>

              <integer>6000</integer>

          to

              <key>MaxDocSizeInPixels</key>

              <integer>10000</integer>

or adjust this number as needed.
