If I scroll past it quickly its fine but when I try to scroll to it to edit it, it just freezes and then crashes.

Try exporting the file as IDML. This can remove minor corruption.
If the InDesign file opened from the IDML behaves the same way, then create a new document the same size as the old, and use Move Pages to get all the rest of the pages into the new document, and then recreate the problem spread.
In a crash report, the etc. etc. has the important information about the crashed thread. Post crash reports, in full, on pastebin.com ---NOT HERE-- and give us a link.
