and follow the prompts until you get to CHAT. You can chat online with an Adobe Support specialist. It takes awhile, but I've always found answers to every issue using this method.
1st option - Try a keystroke reset: open photoshop while holding down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Command + Option + Shift, which should prompt up a reset dialog (you might have to run Photoshop as administrator in certain instances).
2nd option - Delete your preferences folder (Preference file functions, names, locations | Photoshop CS5)

Got it running! Woah, breathing again... thank you. I relaunched photoshop holding down the buttons like you suggested and it wanted me to delete my settings or setting preferences... My first try I didn't delete and I got the same error message, then I went for it, deleted, an I'm in! Just now: Super grateful: Thank you!
