The answer might be that no, you don't need both. If you decide that way, one can be uninstalled without harming the other. But why not leave it alone? You never know when you might need a second version.
Thanks, Michael. I agree about keeping previous versions, but I'm not sure how different these two versions are. They appear interchangeable, unlike CC with any of the CS series. I do keep CS6 and CS5 for just the reasons you describe, but I'm not sue how different the CC versions are.
As for why? To create less confusion and more space.
can I safely use the uninstaller to remove CC without disturbing (2014)?
Your cloud subscription also lets you reinstall any version back to CS6 via the Cloud app's Filters & Versions>Previous Versions. When you uninstall CC you can choose to leave the preferences in place in case you need to reinstall in the future.
Thanks, Rob. That's what I needed to know.
If you work a lot with FormFields and IDMS Snippets to place FormFields in InDesign, or want to use FormFields with InDesign Libraries you are currently better off using the brand new InDesign CC v9.3.0.
See the bug fix section "Resolved Issues" in the release notes of CC v9.3.0:
Especially bug #3843990.
The described issues are not solved in InDesign CC 2014.1 v10.1.0. Not yet…
