I recently shot an exposure bracket on my Canon 5D MkIII with a 24-70mm lens at 24mm. I use the lens profile built into LR CC to autocorrect the distortion inherent in this lens. However, when I was going through this bracket, it seems one image of the 7 has been marked as being shot at 70mm, not 24mm. When this image receives the autocorrect, is actually adds a significant amount of distortion.
I can work around this issue well enough by either creating a virtual copy of the frame next to it and pushing the exposure a stop or by doing my editing and applying the autocorrect to the final tiff file. However, I'm worried this could happen again and I would like to fine a better solution to managing the EXIF data. Nip the problem in the bud, so to speak.
Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks!!
Did you ever find out what caused this issue? I've just discovered the same thing going on (inconsistently, from a shoot yesterday) on a 1DX with the latest 24-70mm. I have a feeling it's Live View related......
Would love to know if you ever found out!
