    ArgumentError: Error #2025

      Can anyone explain Error#2025 to me and why it is thrown in IE 6 but not in Firefox?

      The supplied DisplayObject must be a child of the caller.
      at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/getChildIndex()
      at mx.managers::SystemManager/getChildIndex()
      at mx.managers::SystemManager/::mouseDownHandler()

      Basically, I have a login screen that appears and once a person logs in, I call a custom component (an external video display mxml application) that appears on a successful login. The problem? I get error #2025 if the user clicks the playbutton on the screen or selects an item from the data grid in IE6. Once the user dismisses the error, all is fine.

      I had the same problem with Firefox, but the problem disappeared when I updated Firefox to the latest version.

      I also updated Java but I don't know if fhat made any difference. IE 6 still throws the error regardless.

      Any clues would be really helpful.

          Well, I managed to fix it but I still don't understand why the error happened in the first place. Really cant even explain how I fixed it, except to say that I modified the custom component that I was trying to import from a canvas to a panel. That did it. Why? I don't know.
