    InDesign epub problem

    morvaybator

      Hi!

I have a problem with InDesign epub export. In my document there are several line breaks, for example:

      Chapter 1

      (enter)

      Subtitle

After I export an epub, the line breaks are deleted, and the epub looks like this:

      Chapter 1

      Subtitle

Can you help me why is this happening?

      Thanks for your help!

I've moved this discussion to the InDesign EPUB forum.

Start by telling us what version of InDesign you're using, and whether you're creating Fixed or Reflowable EPUB.

From context, I'd guess you're creating a reflowable EPUB. You need to format your text with paragraph styles. The Space Before and Space After values will be converted to CSS that should give you what you want.

I strongly suggest you look at some tutorials on creating EPUB files because for reflowable EPUB it requires quite a bit of prep work.

You should NEVER—NEVER—NEVER force space between paragraphs with several returns. With EPUB and HTML export these returns will be omitted. But more problems are with the paragraph keep options and other layout issues.

Create Paragraph Styles with space before and after instead.
