OMG!!!! This is ridiculous, I'm on like my 10th tutorial now!! Nobody ever explains how to go back and see the mask over the actual footage. Talk about an issue that just fell through the cracks.
Even the Adobe page on Mattes just shows how to create, copy, paste, or delete a mask. No talk about how to SEE the mask after you create it.
Click on (Select) the Mask in the Layer it was created....should bring up the Mask outline
But ...You only have two layers ON and one is a Tracker Camera.
The Solids are both OFF
What are you expecting to see?
Its a small screen grab so its hard to see what you are doing in regards to Tabs, layers or switches.
Duplicate the Clip into 2 Layers. One directly above the other so they are in frame for frame synch.
Create a Mask on the Top layer over the badge. Pen Tool
Click on MASK in that layer. Try the Invert Check box so you understand what it does to the mask.
Feather it as you wish.
Apply a blur or whatever to that mask layer.
Now you have to to Track it if there is a lot of movement.
Thank you very much! I understand the tool a lot better, and the invert option makes it workable.
I appreciate the help!
