I just downloaded Creative Cloud and AE CC on a Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9.5. Whenever I try to open AE, I get a pop up message that says "After Effects warning: Could not create the file '/file/Users/cameronjohnson/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/13.2/dummy'."
Can anybody help with this?
There are several threads on this on this forum. It has to do with read write permissions on your preferences file. Browse to the folder, check the info for the folder and set the permissions so everybody can read and write to the file. Then make sure AE is up to date.
When I look in Preferences folder in Finder, there is no "Adobe" folder. I've double checked that everything is up to date and also tried installing Photoshop to see if a similar error occurred. Photoshop installed fine without any glitches.
