Mac user here, I accidentally deleted my inDesign file and emptied my "Trash" and I was wondering if there was a way to recover the file through inDesign auto-recovery or back up.
I've tried using Disk Drill, I think I may have found the file (no metadata was available) but I'm getting database errors and something about the file being damaged error code 5. Is there another file beside the .indd file I should be recovering in order to open the file?
I'm truly lost
Right I usually save my files in my desktop Google Drive folder and that's
why I felt confident in trashing my downloads folder and emptying my trash.
I have an interactive PDF copy and an earlier version (minus 20hrs of work)
in indesign format so I'm sure I can recreate the work in a day but I was
hoping to avoid having to do, I had a lot of design elements.
You have to buy and use some kind of file recovery software. Don't save anything on your disk until you have recovered the file. Maybe you have a second computer, install this recovery software there and attach the other computer in target mode.
