What are the properties of your video files that you are trying to use in Premiere Elements 7 installed on Windows 7 (assumed 64 bit)?
If you do not know those properties, perhaps telling us the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video would give us
the information that we need.
Do you know if the audio is stereo or 5.1 channel? What is your project preset?
Please further define what is happening...
a. You use Get Media/Files and Folders...does the video actually get into the Organize area?
b. When you drag the file to the Timeline, do you see content in both Video 1 and Audio 1?
c. Does the issue occur only with this particular video audio format or with all video of different formats that you import into the project?
d. Did these video audio files work OK when used in Premiere Elements 7 on Windows XP?
Let us start here and then decide what next?
I have Windows7 32bit
I was able to download video/audio normally with Windows XP
The file images do appear in the organise area
The only difference is that there is no sound when run in the review panel
I am happy to say that my audio problem appears to have resolved
I believe the problem was related to the compatability of windows7 with the premiere7 program also the fact that my computer was recently upgraded fromXP
Following compatability instructions appropriate changes have been made
Thankyou for your interest and advice
