Adobe applications do not do well with migration.
Uninstall it; run the CC Cleaner tool; reinstall properly.
Note that CS4 is unsupported under Yosemite. If the above doesn’t fix it I’m afraid you’re on your own.
Thanks for the response. This is good information (and a relief
especially after this morning's experience with online Microsoft Skype
Two further questions:
1. I have not experienced problems with ID before, so I don't know
about CC cleaner. I am not actually using the CC version. I have used
the DVD version for years and have not upgraded for reasons of cost. So
I'm thinking that the CC Cleaner option will not apply here.
Is there a similar step I need to perform to remove the existing copy
from the MacBook Air before reinstalling from DVD?
2. By "unsupported under Yosemite" do you mean CS4 won't run? Or that I
won't receive Adobe support with Yosemite? ( I am running Mavericks for
now, and will wait a bit to install Yosemite.)
1. CC is just the name and will work with CS versions as well: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
2. You are completely on your own. CS4 is not support at all. If you do get it working, great, if not, there’s nothing anyone can do.
Thanks much. Cleanest info I've had in weeks.
