Hey guys, I have a slightly unique ram preview issue.
A client asked for a section of a video to be cut out, so the only easy way for me to this was to take a precomp of my work sequence and split it, cutting out the necessary video, then splicing it back together. This leaves me with two layers, both of which are referencing the same composition, just cut so it skips over a section.
My problem, is that After Effects ram preview will only play audio for the first layer. When the playhead reaches the second layer, the audio drops out for the rest of the piece. I can only get the audio in the second layer to play during ram preview when I turn off the audio icon for the first layer. If I render everything out, then all audio is fine, but I really need to be able to ram preview with all audio. Also, I can scrub the audio throughout the entire sequence with no issues.
Any ideas here? This has never happened to me before.

Is there some reason you HAVE to do this in AE? Could you just put the animation to be revised in a video editing application and cut out the unwanted stuff?
It would be a lot faster and easier....
