Wondering if you can provide more info. Are you emailing PDFs around, and they never integrate with the system?
FormsCentral will be completely shut down, as best I understand it, so if you're emailing a link to a web form, then it won't work. If you're emailing a fillable PDF, then it should.
Hi there! Yes, I will email a fillable PDF form that I created with FormsCentral. My hope is that I can have completed forms sent back to me via email, then export all the data to Excel. I am curious if this will be possible without Forms Central. Looking at your reply, It sounds like my fillable form will work just fine. But please let me know if you have advice on compiling the collected data in Excel after FormsCentral is retired. Thanks!
The key to continuing to use your PDF forms is to make sure that you have saved them out without a Formscentral submit button. You can then either instruct fillers to send filled forms directly to you or you could add a button in Acrobat with a little java to send the form to an account of your choosing when click. If you look back here I know we've posted instruction on how to do this. You question about the best way to export your data to Excel from Acrobat would best be asked in the Acrobat users forum.
I found an FAQ that appears to show how to do that.
One question- is there a reason you don't configure a form to send data to a spreadsheet directly and never send a fillable PDF? It would be much easier. Likely many of the alternatives allow you to do this. I'm familiar with JotForm.
Then you just email out a permanent link to the form and never have to fuss with a PDF.
Thanks Andrew. This is what I needed to know. I will save it as a fillable PDF from FormsCentral, without a FormsCentral submit button. Then in Adobe Pro, I can go to Tools > Forms > More Form Options > merge data into spreadsheet.
Thanks for the info. JotForm looks like a great tool. Good point about automating this so data goes straight to a website. It looks like I will stay with the fillable PDF and manually combine using Adobe Pro since my form is fairly extensive and it won't be filled out via a website. .
