    Cineware render path CC 14

I recently purchased the full Creative Cloud subscription and thought that I would give the cineware plugin in AE a go.

I already have C4D studio and I wanted to use it as the default executable and renderer for Cineware.

I can set the executable path fine but the render path will not set.

The field will not remember the path even when I restart AE and purge all memory and cache.

DO I need to set a TCP port in C4D r15?

Can I hardcode the path into a file or something?

      Any help would be awesome!!

You shouldn't have to change any TCP port settings.

Are you getting this far: (error message screen shot)?

Ae should still remember the .app file path and continue past this after you've launched.   However, I suspect that it might be an error that is caused by the Student Version of CINEMA4D.

Which version of AeCC have you installed? (not the date but the version, you'll find it at the bottom of the "About After Effects" splash screen)

          Try this:

          • Change path
          • Purge All Memory (before restarting Ae)
          • Restart Ae
          • Purge All again
          • Create CINEWARE file, check paths.

I just confirmed that I have been able to set/save those paths using the Student Version of R15 (maybe it's time to reboot the machine 3times)

I didn't even receive an error message. The path just fails to set.

I am using AE CC 2014 - the complete/full subscription.

I have tried purging the memory and all that. Its a weird one.

            Still no joy.

There have been a few different versions of AeCC 2014.

if you click on About After Effects and look at the bottom of that splash screen, you should be able to find the version that you're using (13.x.x )

unfortunately, I'm not sure that it's an AE error specifically.  It might be in the way the Cineware is writing to your preference file.  Permissions may be worth looking into.
