Can you write to a json file

I need to set a timer so when the edge file is opened for the first time it writes a date to an external file (json) and then it counts down using a timer. A bit like a software trial style.

Yes you can but you will have to use php.

Thanks for your response Resdesign.

I haven't used php before im aware of what it is used for and I ok coder but could do with point in the right direction such as any only tutorials or samples.
