I am creating a network client that gets data from a server
via a proprietary protocol, and plots the data by creating
bitmapdata images. The goal is to display these traces close to
real time. In my code I use ProgressEvent.SOCKET_DATA to listen for
data. When trace data is requested, the server continuously sends
data to the client. I can receive this data, but it never displays.
I believe this is because there is always data on the socket
(constantly dispatching the event) hence preventing the data
packets to be processed and displayed. Is there anyone that can
tell me if this is a likely problem ? Anyone have any suggestions
on a better way to handle this ? All comments/suggestions welcomed.
