Which version of photoshop and mac os x are you using?
What happens if you try that in Finder, not in the photoshop open dialog?
I'm using windows 7 64 bit and don't have 'finder'
Sorry, that's how it works on a mac as well, except it's called Quick Look.
Which version of photoshop are you using?
So in photoshop with windows 7 you do a File>Open, highlight one of the thumbnails, then press the space bar and image is supposed to enlarge?
Is this in adobe bridge or mini bridge?
i'm not sure what you mean...
i can see a preview image in the upper right hand
window of the bridge and then when i click the
space bar see a magnified image with every image
in every subdirectory except one called "portugal" ...
if i rename "portugal" to "portugall" it works
fine, so clearly there is something somewhere
that is adversely interacting with bridge and the subdirectory name "portugal"
We still need to know which version of photoshop your using?
Perhaps there is a problem with Bridge's Preferences. A reinstall would not touch those. So see if a reset works:
Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.
By the way, "gaikoku" is Japanese for "foreign country", which makes me wonder if your language settings are other than US English.
Windows uses backslashes \ to separate directory names d:\gaikoku\portugal, but that might be a typing error.
But let's get the preferences out of the way and see if that fixes it.
when i reinstalled it the preferences were
apparently reset to standard - as in a dark
background when i like a light one etc. i also
erased all the cache. and ...i can see previews
and enlarge the images in every other
subdirectory, including the one renamed
"portugall" ...but if i switch the name back to
"portugal" ...no joy. so ...someplace there's
something lingering that is interfering with
bridge and the name "portugal" ... strange
Would creating a new portugal subfloor in Bridge and moving the contents from the old one fix this?
i created the 'portugal' subdirectory and then
copied the files from the 'portugall'
subdirectory into it ... still didn't work.
interestingly enough if i created a separate
directory for 'portugal' (not a subdirectory of
d:\gaikoku) it worked fine, so clearly there is
some reference to d:\gaikoku\portugal that is
somehow jamming up the works but i can't find it.
i erased every reference to 'portugal' in my
users directory in the c: drive - still no joy
thanks, i have just done that
Sorry I could not help you, but it is better to get you to the more qualified help than to make a bad guess that might make things worse.
