the effect you want my not be achievalbe unless you preload all your images.
when you start to load an image it will take some time (depending upon the images file size and the user's connection) for your image to be visible.
do you want to preload all your images and then start their display?
yes, I can preload all the images once the site starts up.... So what ever is the easy way to handle it. I just need to be able to display them one at a time with a delay. Then start over... This will be on the main page with other things going on, just a way to show more then one thing in a particular area.
once they have all loaded once, they can be reloaded almost instantly (from the user's cache). you can then use a simple setInterval() loop to load each one sequentially every 3 to 5 seconds and they will display for 3 to 5 seconds.
if you are willing for the users just to wait 3 seconds and then load an image, you will find something at kiupa.com ->tutorials->slideshow. So basically you won`t have exactly 3 secs between images
if your files are so large/users connection is so slow that you have to peload all images, i doubt anyone will be around long enough to view your slideshow
I'm new at this can you point me to example or some code that I can look at.
