PDF: Video in MP4/H264 encoding. Doesn't support page curl
SWF: Video in Flash format or MP4. Supports page curl
Page Curl is set as a Page Transition. You can look that up in Adobe InDesign Help.
Here's an article I wrote about placing video in InDesign:
Thank you Steve Werner, your answer make me do some progress, but im still not happy with my result.
What i really want to do is: make a presentation document pdf with page curl with a little video inside. For that i create a swf file with page curl, then, i import this swf to a pdf to do a pdf with page curl.
Now with your help, i can have the video rolling in the swf, but when i import again to make a pdf with page curl, the video is embedded like an image.
Do you have some advice for me?
Thank you again.
My advice is: Forget the Page Curl. It had its moment in the sun but really it adds nothing to the presentation
If you've seen any advice about placing SWF into PDF, I'd forget that too.
Place the video and be done with it.
I know, today already exist free programs that make a normal pdf in a pdf with page curl. But i really need to put this video to work in a pdf with page curls.
Thank you anyway.
Sorry, PDF does not support Page Curl. It is not possible. No free program can add page curl to a PDF, the result will be something els, but no PDF.
If you place a SWF into a PDF, than is a Flashplayer required, this would mean that nobody with iOS or Android would be able to read your PDF.
So forget page curl. You don't need it, you want to have it, but you can't.
What i really want to do is: make a presentation
Do you really need Acrobat for your presentation? You could do the presentation out of Chrome, which has the Flash player built in, or you could use the Flash Projector stand alone application, which is installed with Flash CC or can be downloaded from Adobe.
If you want a portable presentation, you should be very aware of the severe limitiations on PDF in iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod) and Android (phones/tablet). Definitely no Flash, and many other things don't work. Increasingly web users expect you to make things that work on their mobile device, and that means HTML-based.
Right, but it isn't clear if the presentation is for distribution, or if Pedro is the presenter. If he's the presenter then he could run the .swf in full screen from the stand alone Flash Player app on a laptop.
Thank you, i learn a lot with your answers, the presentation is for distribution. I think i have no chances, i have to choose between a page curl effect or put the video in a normal pdf.
The document have to be in a pdf file because it is the most common type of file that the enterprises recognize.
