Capture One's tethering features have always been the best because studio-based photographers have always been one of their core markets. LR's tethering is good enough, particularly after LR4 (?) allowed you to load a transparent overlay file so you can shoot directly into a layout. It's probably not worth investing more in that area - not till other more important features are perfect.
Why doesn't LR have live view, ability to control camera settings, or wifi?
Because Adobe has not added these features, so ... you should submit a feature request to Adobe at Photoshop Family Customer Community
Thanks for the response, I'll do that.
I agree about Capture One john. I've used it quite a bit and I love all the features. I've recently had to use LR at my day job because it's what my employer purchased.
I realize that maybe this isn't LR's central focus, but why leave out these features?
Because it isn't Lr's central focus?
Everything's a matter of balance: Lr can do a lot of things Capture One can't - or do it a lot better than Capture One does it: that's why I use them both.
And DxO Optic Pro. And Photo Ninja.
They all have their strengths, weaknesses and "USPs".
