Picture Frame Function in Fireworks 8

    KathWebmaster

I recently upgraded to Fireworks 8 from version 4. I was saddened to see that they had taken a user-friendly method of creating a picture frame and turning it into a nightmare. Why?! I can't get the picture frame to fill with anything but the limited number of choices they now give AND there is no preview of the fills.

I hate when they take a good thing and in an attempt to make it better, they muck it up. Any advice?

          Level 7
Hi, I can't remember how the picture frame command worked in FWs 4 so
          I cannot compare the two.

However, from the Window drop down menu you should find an item
Patterns and Textures which will open a panel displaying all the
Patterns or Textures. You can also add your own Patterns fro the
Property Inspector, but you need to unlock the Layer by clicking the
tiny Padlock in the Layers panel.

There is a quick tutorial over at CMX that may help you as well...
