We get disconnected all the time, usually when publishing a page, because if it takes a long time, the CPS times out and disconnects. Then you just hit the "Connect" button to reconnect.
Using the CPS for only one user? Probably a waste of time.
ok well my test was ok after i uninstalled CPS and had to tick off cps more than a few times in Dreamweaver 8.
we'll see what the client says from their end.
BTW do you have to have your machine on always as CPS is locally on my set andi guess the user, in this case a writer would work at various times thus needing to connect to CPS
CPS can run off a local install on WinXP, but your limitations may be that this computer does not have a static ip address, and since its not a a dedicated server, it may be getting its ip address dynamic - its best to register it in DNS or a host name file. For testing using just XP is fine but for larger deployments you may want to install it on server operating system.
pulled CPS and aside from the check in/out system, file locking i think i'm ok. i need to get used to working this i guess.
if you publish a draft sent from a writers fr DW8 does it replace that master file where ever it may be located?
Our CPS is on a dedicated server.
