    Print booklet issues

    brianartbat

I am trying to use the Print Booklet feature but need to print the cover pages on heavier glossy paper while the rest of the pages are on regular paper. Am using a Kyocera TASKalfa 6551ci KX printer with the different papers loaded in different trays. What I need to know is, is there a way in Print Booklet to assign specific paper trays to specific pages in the document?

Also having issues with an image being pushed behind a background object when printing. It is at the top of the layer stacking order in the file but is continually being cut out by the object below.

      Thank you

You may or may not be able to print to different papers in one Print action.

InDesign will not be able to perform such.

If your Kyocera is driven by a RIP you may be able to perform a Mixed Media. This would be defined in the Setup dialog for the printer. (Print Booklet > Print Settings > Setup)

If the printer cannot perform the function you would have to send the Print Booklet twice; defining different page ranges for each set.

Brian, your last post was blank, which can happen with some email clients. Come back to the web page to post.

An expansion on what Daniel said, if you need to send ranges it is often easiest to do it with PDF instead of direct from ID. Acrobat has built-in booklet printing that is easier to use than ID's, or you can print to PDF (windows) or to Postscript and distill (Mac) from Print Booklet.
