What is the best (easiest) way to convert old Quark files to InDesign? Our department is (finally) upgrading to InDesign for all products going forward, but still we have loads of legacy files that need to be brought into InDesign. I'm thinking that MARKZWARE's Q2ID looks good, but does ot really work well? Does anyone have experience migrating massive amounts of files from Quark to InDesign?
ID can natively open Q4 files, but Q2ID is the only option for later versions. Run any converted files through IDML immediately after conversion for the least amount of trouble later. See Remove minor corruption by exporting
Q2ID is worth every penny. You don’t need it on every machine. Just put one person in charge of the conversions.
Thanks to you both. Most of our files are QXP 7 through 9, so it looks like Q2ID would be the way to go.
