When you say "can't get it to work" - what do you mean? Can you be specific, please?
I click on the spot healing brush tool, click on either heal or clone, then go to the spot, circle it, and click. The spot will not go away.
I've tried holding down the alt/option key and clicking on the spots, but still nothing. I can drag on the spots, click, nothing....
If I go into Photoshop I can use the spot healing brush there, but not sure why I can't get it to work in LR anymore. It used to always work for me.

Do you by any chance have the Opacity set to zero?
Are you clicking on the Radial Filter tool instead of the Spot Removal tool?

Ah! Somehow my opacity slider slid down to "2"--I boosted it up to 100% and all is well. Thanks to all of you that provided input to my problem!
