I was simply experimenting this weekend and thought wouldn't
it be sweet to have a nice slow animation in Director with models
with raytrace attached. Some nice reflections etc. When I exported
my W3D file from max with the raytrace materials attached to some
various objects and then imported into director I ended up with
posterised, "buggy" model.
Does anyone know a way around this scenario so that I may use
raytrace materials on objects imported into Director or does
director provide it's own version?
You can implement reflections in director by adding a
reflection map to a material, however it's not a reflection of the
real scene that the object is in. It's an omnidirectional
reflection map. Still, it can look ok:
