Hi, I've changed all my forms into pdf's and filed them on my computer. Up until today I've been able to open them, but as of today I get a message that says, "The file named “SOPHIE Babes in the Woods Booking Form_response.pdf” couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it." why is this and can you help?
It sounds like you're on a Mac using Preview to open the .pdfs. I've been having the same issue for months. I've applied all the software updates and found two mediocre solutions: 1. My Preview app will only open one document at a time, so I quit and relaunch Preview every time I want to look at a different .pdf. 2. Open the .pdfs with Adobe Acrobat. No offense, Adobe, but Preview has less clutter on the screen when I just want to simply view a document. But at least Acrobat opens every .pdf without all the permissions drama. 3. (bonus mediocre solution!) You can also view them using a Safari or Chrome web browser. In the Finder, right- or control-click on the .pdf's icon to choose the application, or hit Command-I to change the application that opens all .pdfs. I'd say it's surprising that Apple has let this problem go on this long, but lately this kind of thing isn't that surprising.
