    New to Edge: How do I make an animation stop in the center of the stage?

    olewis0977

      I'm taking a class on Instructional Design and they use Edge. I've never used it before. Ever.

      My assignment instructions are to make an image move across the stage, stop and then move off the stage with a click. I am also to have 2 buttons that take you to a URL.

      Nothing is working.

      I have a paper airplane flying across the stage. I want it to stop in the center, at 1 sec, (1000) and then fly off stage at 2 sec. I have used the code snippets provided, and watched several videos, but I can't get the stupid thing to stop.

      And now I can't get the buttons to work at all. I am such a newbie at everything. Below is the jQuery code I have, and I honestly have no idea if it's right or not.

      Thanks in advance,

      O

      (function($, Edge, compId){
      var Composition = Edge.Composition, Symbol = Edge.Symbol; // aliases for commonly used Edge classes

         //Edge symbol: 'stage'
         (function(symbolName) {

            Symbol.bindTriggerAction(compId, symbolName, "Default Timeline", 1000, function(sym, e) {
               // insert code here
               // Go to a label or specific time and stop. For example:
               // sym.stop(500); or sym.stop("myLabel");
               sym.stop(1000);

            });
            //Edge binding end

            Symbol.bindElementAction(compId, symbolName, "${InfoBtn}", "click", function(sym, e) {
               // insert code for mouse click here
               // Navigate to a new URL in the current window
               // (replace "_self" with appropriate target attribute)
               window.open("http://www.origami-kids.com/", "InfoBtn");

            });
            //Edge binding end

            Symbol.bindElementAction(compId, symbolName, "${MoreBtn}", "click", function(sym, e) {
               // insert code for mouse click here
               // Navigate to a new URL in the current window
               // (replace "_self" with appropriate target attribute)
               window.open("http://paperairplaneshq.com/paper-airplanes.html", "MoreBtn");

            });
