What format and codec is that footage?
Have you ever installed any third-party codec packs? (They cause issues sometimes.)
Do you have the composition set to use the ray-traced renderer by accident?
Thanks for replying.
They are h.264 in .mov.
No third party codec packs installed in AE
Ray-traced renderer if not on. The composition is set to Classic 3D.
Try transcoding the footage to a production codec and see if that makes a difference.
Like, use the Adobe Media Encoder to make them something like QuickTime with the PhotoJPEG codec.
See if that helps with the performance.
Transcoding worked really well. Becuase i am using FCP7, i transcoded to prores and no issues since. Thanks a lot.
Good thing you did that. FCP 7 is allergic to H.264 footage in the first place. You don't want to cut with that stuff, or you'll have FCP woes later. You want to transcode to Prores right away during Log & Transfer.
