P.S. I just re-installed Flash recently thinking it would fix the problem. So this is a clean install and I am having problems updating.
EDIT: OS Windows 5.1
IF it helps, the file I am attempting to open was created by : <xmp:CreatorTool>Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5 - build 349</xmp:CreatorTool>
Seriously? Am I going to have to buy a new version of Flash Professional then??
Thanks for the reply. I'll try that...
just wish the installer would use 80% of my computer's processing power and writing power. The uninstall + install literally takes 2-4 hours, such a lengthy process and I can't even use the internet browser during this time.. it says I must close it before I begin.
I find it completely odd that the installer asks me to close my web browser firefox. It doesn't even have any open handles to any Adobe
files. I wonder why this is. It wouldn't in the first place because it doesn't even have any plugins or extensions from adobe, (besides flash player but that's seperate from CS4.)
I just used the CC Cleaner after using Setup.exe to uninstall CS4 and it still left behind files! No wonder this program doesn't want to work properly. It doesn't even get uninstalled properly!
I am now going to manually go in the registry and data folders deleting any extra traces..
It seems the only thing CC Cleaner did is remove install traces, not any left over parts of the program.
**Update** I successfully got it to update now, after uninstall, CC cleaner, and manual delete of folders in app data folders and program files and extra registry keys.
Thank you Preran.
I have no more crashes, but now I get "Unexpected file format" when attempting to open the flash professional documents.
This is complete garbage. It has started crashing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not do anything but attempt to open a file. It starts crashing when I open the program!
