It's very difficult to just jump into After Effects and start making things work. It is kind of like climbing into the cockpit of an F-15 expecting to be able to fly it after watching a video game preview on YouTube. You need some training and to take the time to go through the tutorials. You can search the help files directly in the application by typing 3-D layers or just 3-D in the search help field at the top right corner of the app. Since you did not provide a screenshot I can only assume you haven't changed the layered 3-D or you've turned off of a view option. You could also be looking at the secondary position properties for shape layers or text animators.
To learn how to use 3-D start here: After Effects Help | 3D layers
Thanks for the response. I wasn't expecting to create any hollywood movies today or in the next couple of years but only just to re-create a few fairly straight forward tutorials.
As for the anchor points, these should appear when i bring up the anchor point setting in composition by pressing (A) and the text or image should revolve around them right? But no anchor points appear. Could you help with that?
Also i've just imported two audio files to accompany my new text title and put them into the composition but they will not playback no matter what i do.
The audio files definitely work, and i can get them to play on their own if i go to Composition- preview- audio preview (work area). just not simultaneously with the video.
And yes, audio is turned on ;-)
I'm thinking this trial isn't working right.
There is about a 99.9% chance the trial is working perfectly, you just haven't spent enough time learning how to use the program make it work. Please go through some tutorials.
