I know this question comes up a lot but I haven't been able to find an answer that solves my problem. Recently InDesign has been claiming that fonts I used previously are "missing," even though when I check they are still installed on my (PC) computer. Reinstalling the font seems to fix the issue temporarily, but it will sometimes happen again. Super aggravating. Some of these fonts are downloaded from places like Dafont, do they have some sort of expiration? Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions you can think of?
Thanks a lot for your time!
You can check the location of the fonts used in a particular document: Choose Type > Find Font. Select the font, and click the More Info button. It will show the path where the font is installed.
After doing that, if InDesign reports the font missing even though the font is found in that location, here are two possibilities: (1) Your font could be corrupted, or (2) you need restore InDesign preferences. Here is how to restore preferences:
To add a third possibility.
If you use a font manager and the fonts are loaded and not installed, a reboot will clear those fonts from memory and they will no longer be available.
Thanks! I will give those a shot
