In my current document, I have Preface and Acknowledgements spreads that I'd like to get rid of. I'm using a template from another site that's setup for a specific book size, so since I didn't set up the document myself I'm not really super familiar with InDesign. When I highlight the spreads as shown in the screenshot and click Delete Spreads, it will remove the pages, but it takes the content from them and moves them down, changing the spreads from viii-ix, x-xi to viii-1, 2-3. The first chapter starts on page 1, where it should, and I'd like to remove these 2 spreads and keep everything else where it is. Any help is appreciated.
It sounds like the text in frames on those pages is threaded into the same story as the body of your book. For someone with no ID experience, the easiest thing is to just delete the text you don't want from those frames after you remove the spreads (removing threaded frames does not remove the text inside them).
Holy cow that was a ton of work to get just right, but it worked. Thank you!
