first: PC with Win 7, Intel Xeon, 32 Gig RAM memory, GeForce GTX 780, After Effects CC 2013
Then: I was working on a project - a main comp with some precomps, audio, video, optical flares, colorgrading with magic bullet looks - nothing really special. Everything was fine, the pre-render (preview) worked all good. But then, from one moment to the other and with no clear reason the pre-render function stopped working. First I emptied all caches, then restarted After Effects and finally my whole system. But nothing helped. It jus says: protecting existing frames (translated from the germa "Vorhandene Frames schützen". I can do audio-pre-render, but no video.
Any idea? Do you need more information? Let me know.
Do you really mean "pre-render", or are you referring to RAM preview?
Does it work in a new project?
And I assume you're talking about a RAM preview and not the pre-render function where you add a precomp to the render queue and use the resulting file in your main composition so it doesn't have to re-render the precomp every time you preview.
yes, you are right - RAM preview. But, now it works again - talked meanwhile to the adobe support. I was told to delete some saved settings on my hard disk.
But thank you!
