I have about 12 Tbs of logged footage over multiple projects. Each clip has a description added to it. I am trying to find a way to make searching for specific content easier. Since so much data has been painstakingly put in as description metadata, it would be great to be able to use it. Which brings me to the question -
Is there any way to get clip names and their added descriptions (and other metadata) as a report? A numbers, .xls or some other searchable document?
one way is to highlight all the media/bins in the project panel and from the menu, export, batch list. this will create a .csv text file.
there is also this option listed in another post, but not sure how well it works. Premiere Pro CC - How can I export custom metadata into Excel?
I was able to import it into spreadsheets, export as a tsv. Using the tsv file I can now import the clip number and its details into a web based application that we use - workflowy.com. It has a brilliant search function which then lets me search for very specific things, tells me what clip its in and so on.
