What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system?

The version is 12 and my OS is Windows 7. It has been working just fine for a long time and I was adding narration when this issue occured. The audio track is visible, and displayed fully but will not play when I start the video. I've rendered the workspace and done everything else I know to do; including removing the existing audio clip and replacing it from Project Assets. My deadline to get this on air was Monday so I'm really in trouble here as this is my livlihood. Thanks
I went to the link and re-opened the narration tool, unchecked Mute and hit play, paused and closed the window and my audio track worked again. Thanks for the link!

So far this particular issue has been targeting Premiere Elements 12/12.1. The Llamadude solution for the audio issue has proven to be a lifesaver for many.
