why does it publish mpg not mpeg?

I am trialing premiere elements 13 and when I go to publish share, to this computer, and select mpeg, when it is done rendering the file is mpg, audio only. I have the video box checked, what am I doing wrong? Is my system missing a codec or something?

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user.

What computer operating system is involved? Have you updated Premiere Elements 13 to 13.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.

But the critical factor here may involve your answer to the question "Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements 13?

If you go to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime, do you have QuickTime presets? You have to use the scroll bar to the right of the Computer choices to see QuickTime category.

Lots other questions about the properties of your source media and more. But the above answer may be the solution.

We will watching for your reply.

          Thank you.
