Although you should be able to see the page in live view, functionality probably won't be there. Use a browser instead.
Thanks. Now I know (I think) that I'm not doing anything wrong via my setup.
Isn't DW a fully functional IDE? I thought that it was.
Are you using site root relative link paths?
Do any of your include files contain more includes?
All of my site folders are in MAMP's htdocs (within the actual site folder/directory) so all of the links are relative links at this point.
I have three main pages at this time. All three have a header and a footer include.

No. Dreamweaver is not at all a PHP IDE.
So that is why I am able to utilize PHP code into my design but not able to view it in live view?
I'm a student and new to the world of design and PHP development.
I did watch a MAMP video on Youtube where the instructor was able to see his (PHP) work in live view when it was incorporated along with HTML, etc...
Should I switch over to an IDE for the purpose of designing PHP driving web sites? If so, is there one that is compatible with MAMP in particular?

Not necessarily. I often develop PHP in Dreamweaver even though I have ZEND Studio (which is a great PHP IDE).
A true IDE will give you debugging tools and a lot of little features that make coding more efficient.
That was helpful. Thanks!
Awesome! It's working now. I had 'site root' checked instead of 'document. All that I had to do was switch that and type in the correct url extension.
I don't have an advanced tab (under the servers tab) on my version of Dreamweaver CC, so there is no option to choose PHP MySQL as a testing server.
....But it's working!
