You should look into your Adobe Account, if you are not registered there, no one will ever be able to help you.
But if you bought a new Computer, either Windows 8.1 or Mac OS X 10 Yosemite, you are out of luck anyway, CS4 is not supported with modern OS. I suspect that you can even buy an upgrade, as CS4 is so many Years out of the market.
Apparently we can get the Complete CS (photoshop, indesign, acrobat pro, illustrator, etc.) for
$29.99 with a valid CS3 or higher serial number....if not it's $49.99!
I have an Adobe Account that I have bought items on, however InDesign was bought by someone before I joined. No idea of their account!
Surely there must be some way to see serial number within the application? I tried running a script to find it that someone had posted but it didn't work (May only have been for a Mac).
When anyone offers you that, you should have serious doubts:
- CS3 is way to old to be installed on any modern computer.
- CS3 is way to old to get any upgrade which would work on any modern computer
- CS3 is not sold anymore by any authorized dealer, keep your hands away.
Thanks but I think you misunderstood. We would be buying latest InDesign version, but Adobe offer it at a reduced rate if we can show we had CS3 or above.
