My actor went outside the green screen and now I can't key the clip without him losing part of a hand or a foot. Is there a fix in after effects?
More skilled actors?
Try to have some fun with this. When you're done, you're going to know a lot more about After Effects. As you get better at After Effects you, or your director or your shooter, will learn what can what cannot be fixed in post. Rotoscoping and pixel-accurate masks are tedious tools. You will need patience and study to learn how to keyframe masks and to position roto properly.
And you might also try to figure out if the scene can be reshot or edited differently so the amount of work can be reduced.
Thanks Todd. That was what I needed. It worked.
Well, since I'm directing, writing, producing, and in charge of A/V I guess I'll have to fire myself :-). It was a very short portion of a longer clip so I was able to rotobrush it. And you're right, I learned a lot about after effects in the process! Thanks.
