    Need help with Root folder

    landarts
I have been trying to setup and define a site to use in DreamWeaver 8. I can open up the site and work on it in DreamWeaver only thru the FTP connection. The site was created by someone else and was uploaded onto the server for me. I need to do general maintenance on the site and add some of the new advertiser's I have aquired. Since I dont have a copy of the root folder on my local computer it make things in Dreamweaver a little more complicated. Is there a way to download or copy a root folder from the server ? Or I am I just missing another waty to do this?

          1. Under Site, select "Manage Sites"
          2. Create a new site, and click on the Advanced tab.
          3. Define the local root site to point to some location on your hard drive.
          4. Move to the Remote site category.
          5. Define the connection method to be FTP
          6. Enter the website's domain in the FTP host field, e.g., www.example.com
          7. Leave the host directory field blank
          8. Enter your FTP user ID and password
          9. Click Test

Does the test succeed? If so, click OK. Then connect to the site, expand
the Files panel, and tell me what folders you see in the Remote file list.
