    gradient fade - how?

    Level 7
      hi

im trying to do a gradient fade on the edge of an image (photo).

      im using black/transparent linear.

but everytime i apply it the whole image turns black.

i want the photo left alone, just the edge to be merged into background.

how do i do this in fireworks?

          Mark,

Select the image then go to Commands > Creative > Fade Image and select
the one that resembles how you want the image to fade.

            thansk

but there seeems little subtley with this method, the gradient doesnt look
            right.

In the Layers Panel, click on the mask (the right icon).
This will expose the greadient handles which you can now manipulate.
