Triggering Browser's Busy Indicator upon RPC Calls

I am working on a Flex web application in which every time an RPC call is made, either through AMF or REST full calls,

I show a busy cursor (6.cursor as seen in the image) until a service response is received.

Some users don't like to see the busy cursor, so I am thinking about using the Browser's native busy indicator (1. tab icon).

Is it advisable to do this, or is it better to handle the busy state within the flex app?

If it is ok to use the browser tab's busy indicator, what is the best way to trigger the indicator from the flex app upon an RPC call ?

      Thanks in advance.
