I am trying to read a number from an external text file that
will control how many seconds before a slide fades into another
slide. So the setInterval duration will be from the external file.
See the last couple lines of the code. I figgered that Flash must
be assuming the number coming in from the external file is a
string, so I tried converting it to no avail. I keep getting NaN
when I trace the variable. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks.
actually you can use a string for the setInterval time
parameter. but it has to be a string that flash can resolve into a
number. you're probably getting white space (usually a carriage
return) after your string that you think is a number.
you can check the number (strings) length to confirm. to
remedy strip the white space.
