This doesn't sound like an InDesign issue as much as a network issue. Do you have an IT person, or are you using your own computers?
Thanks for your quick reply. I am using a work iMac linked to the server, I am the only one in my office experiencing these issues so had initially ruled out the server, Do you think I should investigate this route more?
I'm not a very good source for server-related issues, but if your InDesign works locally but not over the server, I'd tend to think it's a server issue. That said, if you are the only one in the office who is having this problem, it could be the way your computer is set up. Just as a lark, I'd try replacing your InDesign preferences, but that's only a guess as to whether it would help or not.
