I don't have any ideas about the text but when I ran into something similar
I ended up creating a bunch of bitmaps of the text member. Then I used

Sounds pretty annoying. Anyone else have any ideas on workarounds? I can't imagine there is a real limit, but I can't seem to get around this issue... As another note, I am putting the whole height of the text member on the stage, and then scrolling by moving the sprite, not by using scrollTop, because it was just not running smooth for me.
If your text width and formatting do not change at run-time, you may split the text member into smaller ones and scroll them in several sprites, so they will look as a single text member. Here is the script for that. You may need to modify it since it may duplicate the ending line of the previous page.
